National Epilepsy Centre’s Outreach Epilepsy Management Service
There are ~2.2 million people with epilepsy (PWE) in Pakistan and one neurologist per 9,000 PWE to take
care of them. Most of the neurologists are concentrated in major cities of the country. A significant
amount of people in far off areas remain either deprived of epilepsy management or poorly managed.
Worldwide the Primary Care Physicians (PCP) are the first line care-givers of epilepsy and the patients
are referred to a neurologist only when the treatment prescribed is not helping control seizures.
You can become National Epilepsy Centre’s Outreach doctor to provide quality near-home epilepsy
management by registering yourself with us. With this you shall be entitled to telemedicine sessions
free of cost with our specialists to discuss your difficult to manage cases online. We also offer online
clinical education for PCP’s on: “Management of epilepsy in an outreach clinic.”
