Recognizing the importance of addressing the unique challenges faced by women with epilepsy and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, Prof. Haleema Yasmin, Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at JPMC, organized a dedicated workshop on this critical subject. The event was well- attended by both gynaecologists and neurologists, reflecting a shared commitment to improving care for this vulnerable population. The workshop underscored the pressing need to conduct similar initiatives across the country to enhance the management of women with epilepsy and implement risk mitigation strategies aimed at optimizing both maternal and fetal outcomes.

National Epilepsy Centre continues its commitment towards educational support in epilepsy care. A workshop on Diagnosing Epilepsy: Bridging Knowledge from Classroom to Clinic was conducted at Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College. It was a productive interactive teaching endeavour with enthusiastic medical students and some postgraduates.

A special epilepsy teaching course under Edhi Memorial Lecture Series was developed for specialist of neurosciences from Afghanistan. Didactic lectures on day 1 were followed on day 2 with hands on experience in patient evaluation and basic technical aspects and interpretation of electroencephalography (EEG) at National Epilepsy Centre.

Lecture on epilepsy diagnosis and management for Final Year students at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), the future health providers, was held as part of Edhi Memorial Lecture Series. About 250 students attended the lecture. Various topics were covered about epilepsy; presentation, cause, diagnosis treatment and management.

A lecture on 2017 ILAE Classification of Seizures and the Epilepsies was held in collaboration with Epilepsy Association of Pakistan. Prof. Sameer M. Zuberi, Chair, ILAE Commission on Classification & Terminology 2013-17, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist & Honorary Professor, Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow UK gave an elaborate talk which was followed by Q&A by the enthusiastic participants.

As part of Edhi Memorial Lecture Series a continued medical education (CME) on diagnosis and management of epilepsy for family physicians was held in collaboration with Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic centre. This was the 524th CME, being organized by Essa centre over several years. About 60 family physicians and some medical internists attended.
